8th November - Remembrance
Day. Today representatives of all of our sections from Beavers to
Leaders attended St Michaels Church in Aveley for their Remembrance day
service.
12th - 14th
June 2009 - Sleepover. Over this long weekend the Cubs experienced a
Native American themed sleepover. During the weekend they built their own
tepees, medicine bags as well as the traditional head dresses. Plenty
of games were played during the day and a visit was made to the "festival in
the park" which was held locally. Traditional camp fire cooking was the
order of the day once the sun set. On the Sunday they hiked to Davy Down to
visit the pumping station. During the visit they worked on a number of their
badges including the naturalist and hikes away. After the hard work came
some fun sports in the fields. All involved left the scout hall happy but
tired late on Sunday afternoon.
6th June 2009 - Cub / Scout Linking Day. This was an event organised by the
Scouting district to introduce some of the districts older Cubs to the
activities that Scouts undertake. It also provided an excellent opportunity
for the Cubs to meet the Scout leaders and some of the Scouts within the
troop.
16th May 2009 - Cubs District Sports Day. The day consisted of a
number of events including running, egg and spoon races, potato races, welly
boot throwing and lots more. Whilst the wind below quite strongly the rain
held off allowing the event to run smoothly. A special mention to Jack who
won 1st place in the under 9
¼ football shoot out. A
good time had by all cubs, leaders and parents that attended.
